FreelanceEdit.com is a freelance editing service provided by the online literary arts magazine, Splash of Red. Manuscripts submitted for editing can range from poetry to screenplay as long as the focus is on the literary. Please do not submit resumes and other technical papers.
The fee for editorial services is 3 cents per word. Payment is done through PayPal, a trusted and secure service that will keep all of your information private. *Although rare, there is potential for a wide degree of unforeseeable editorial obstacles within a manuscript. For that reason, upon receiving the work the editor reserves the right to contact the author within 48 hours to renegotiate the cost of services, at which time the author may either accept the new fee or receive a full refund.
When submitting your manuscript as an attachment to your email, please make sure to include the following: Author’s name, title(s), working email address and last 4 digits of credit/debit card used for payment (this is to ensure your payment is matched with your manuscript). No information provided will be shared with any third parties. Please use an easily readable font such as Times New Roman or Georgia and size 12 is preferable.
STEPS:
1 – Choose a manuscript you would like edited. This could be poetry, fiction, non-fiction or even screenplay. There is no specific content or theme limitations nor are there any limits on word count.
2 – Perform a word count of the manuscript on your own. Neglect only the title and the author’s name and working email address.
3 – Multiply the word count by .03 to give you the dollar amount of FreelanceEdit.com’s editorial services.
4 – Click on the PayPal link below. Enter the fee into the “Item price” box and then either log into your existing PayPal account or set up a new one. It’s free and takes very little time. Then, completing the transaction is a simple click away.
5 – Finally, send your manuscript to: Editor@FreelanceEdit.com as an attached document to your email. Once verification of payment and the manuscript have been received, the editing process will begin.
A confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided in the body of the manuscript along with an estimated time frame for the edit. Normally this will take one week due to volume. If you require your manuscript by a particular date, please email Info@FreelanceEdit.com with your request and you will receive a response within 24 hours. When your manuscript is finished, it will be sent to the email address provided with all edits, critiques and notes.
